Original GM Brake Pads
What Are Brake Pads?
Brake pads apply pressure and friction to your brake rotors, and causes your vehicle to stop. The main purpose of brake pads is to stop your car, but they will also keep you and your passengers protected.
When Should I Replace My Brake Pads?
Most owner's manuals recommend changing your brake pads every 80,000 km or so. Mileage may vary depending on how much you drive your vehicle. Brake pads will need to be changed more than brake rotors. If you see a warning light appear on your dash, you'll want to replace them as soon as you can.
Just like other parts of your car, truck, or SUV, brake pads are not going to last forever. You will want to inspect your car for any brake damage on a regular basis. For example, if you hear any strange noises when you apply the brakes, your vehicle may have excessive brake pad wear.
